Rough Track Test

Mountain-TrackMajor progress on the endcap mountain module today. A bit of design frustration prompted a switch from XtrackCad to RailModeller Pro. There are a few things lacking, but overall it’s a much better design experience. I especially appreciate the ability to automatically fill gaps with track and manage inventory (saving me from needing to buy more track).

Once the module design was complete, I printed the design at 1:1 and J helped assemble the track. I was a bit scared of trimming pieces to meet in a #4 turnout, but it was extremely easy with a razor saw. They aren’t stable enough to run trains, but the Kato piers let me see how things will look with the grades in place.

This week I’ll get foam and start slicing it into place.
